The Cold Steel War Hammer, Hickory Wood Handle is modeled after perhaps the ideal weapon for use against a knight in armor. Designed to deliver damage through plate armor with heavy hammer blows or a spike that would drive right through sheets of metal. Popular with Historical European Martial Artists and re-enactors, Cold Steel’s modern interpretation can be wielded with one hand or two.
With a drop forged 1055 carbon steel head that’s differentially heat treated and fully hardened spike and hammer face this war hammer is built to last. The body of the hammer is slightly softer to help absorb shock from heavy strikes and the 30” straight grain American Hickory handle is topped with a sturdy pair of langettes.
